Denka Technology

The Denka Innovation Center is currently conducting demonstration trials on several crops under various environmental stresses (including high and low temperatures, drought, salinity, etc.). Through these trials, Denka has been able to demonstrate PRULA’s effects on crop growth. The mechanisms from the use of biostimulants on crops are still largely unknown. The company hopes to discover these mechanisms and develop more effective biostimulant products in the near future.

Denka is continuously researching to create new innovations in cooperation with universities and public research institutions by utilizing open innovation, one of the strengths of the Denka Group. Denka hopes to contribute to sustainable agriculture with the power of biostimulants and the collective efforts of the Denka Group developed over its 100-year history.

Biostimulant

Why Biostimulants?

Biostimulants are agricultural products which can be applied to reduce damage caused by environmental stresses and bring out the true potential of crops. Due to climate change caused by global warming, the world has been facing severe weather conditions affecting agriculture. In addition, the world’s population is estimated to increase from 7.8 billion in 2021 to 9.7 billion in 2050 leading to concerns regarding food production. Due to these reasons, biostimulants have recently been attracting attention as a possible solution to this problem.

Denka’s Biostimulants

Denka has been contributing to the Japanese agriculture for over 100 years, starting with the production of fertilizers in 1915. Since 1963, using a special method unique to Denka, the company has been producing humic substances that are highly effective in improving crop growth. Due to its highly regarded effectiveness, the company’s humic substances have been used for more than 50 years. PRULA, Denka’s biostimulant material, is a product based on the company’s own special technology. Recently, the demand for biostimulants has been increasing worldwide. As a leading company in the Japanese agricultural industry, Denka will continue to provide high value biostimulants all around the world.
